03 Jun IS YOUR PET PREPARED FOR WINTER?
We’re all running around getting flu shots, buying winter woollies and putting doonas on beds in preparation for winter in Australia. But what about our pets? Are our beloved cats and dogs prepared for winter?
Just like you, they also need help with a bit of winter prep.
Here’s a few things a pet parent can do to help their cats and dogs prepare for the cold nights and days ahead :
1/ Make sure they have a nice warm bed, well positioned out of the cold, to sleep in at night
2/ Buy your dog a snug fitting winter jacket for early morning and late night walks
3/ Even though it’s cold, dogs and cats also need access to fresh water, so don’t forget to replenish their water bowl daily
4/ Just like humans, it’s also important for dogs and cats to get sun on their coats/skin. Help them, by leaving access during the day to nice sunny spots in the home, for them to lie and bask in the rays.
5/ Give them a daily vitamin boost of a good quality pet vitamin and mineral supplement like Petvim. For dogs, put a teaspoon of the soluble Superfood powder formula in their water bowls daily. For cats try a 1/4-1/2 teaspoon in their water or simply sprinkle it on their wet or dry food. It’s one of the best ways to ensure a happy, healthy and hydrated pet this winter.
